Northern Vietnam In-Depth 9 days

Ninh Binh · Baía de Halong · Hanói

Operada por Lang Thang in Vietnam

Resumo da viagem

Northern Vietnam does not reveal itself quickly. It takes time — a slow walk through a guild street at dusk, a meal at a family's table, a morning on limestone water before the tour boats arrive. This nine-day journey is designed around that pace: enough time in each place to move past the surface, with space built in for the unexpected encounters that become the stories you actually tell when you get home.

The route traces a loop from Hanoi through the karst countryside of Ninh Binh — Vietnam's inland limestone landscape, often more moving than the famous bay — out to Lan Ha Bay for two days on the water, and back to the capital for a refined farewell. Three very different Vietnams, connected by a single thread: the enduring weight of a culture that has been continuously and stubbornly itself for over a thousand years.

Itinerário dia a dia

  1. Hanoi announces itself immediately. Step outside and the city is already in full voice — motorbikes in their thousands, street vendors perfuming the air with charcoal and herbs, the particular clatter of a city that has been continuously alive for over a thousand years. Founded in 1010 AD when Emperor Lý Thái Tổ named it Thăng Long — the City of the Ascending Dragon — Hanoi has been capital, battlefield, and survivor. The French colonised it for 80 years and left behind broad boulevards and yellow villas. American bombers targeted it for a decade. It absorbed both and kept going.

Private transfer from Noi Bai Airport to The Q Boutique Hotel, set in the heart of the Old Quarter on Nguyen Huu Huan Street — steps from Hoan Kiem Lake and the guild streets that still carry the names of the trades practised here eight centuries ago. The afternoon is yours: decompress, explore, find a plastic-stool coffee on the pavement.

As evening falls, your guide leads the group into the Old Quarter's street food scene — a proper immersion, not a sanitised tasting tour. Northern phở, lighter and cleaner than the southern version. Bánh cuốn, steamed rice rolls stuffed with minced pork and wood-ear mushroom. Egg coffee — invented at Đinh Café in the 1940s when a barman beat egg yolk with sugar to replace the milk that French rationing had made scarce. It became a Hanoi institution. The city has a habit of turning necessity into artistry.
