- We begin our journey by heading south towards Merida, the vibrant capital of the Yucatan State. Rich in colonial and Mayan heritage, Merida is a city of fascinating contrasts. Today�s highlights include a visit to the city's fortified cathedral and the Limestone Church of the Third Order. We�ll also explore the House of Montejo, a 16th-century mansion famed for its striking Plateresque colonial architecture. You have free time in the afternoon, during which you might choose to discover the Museum of the Mayan World for deeper insights into the region�s history. In the evening, we�ve arranged a transfer for you to experience the "Sacred Stones" sound and light show � a captivating display that brings the past to life. We�ll then settle into our accommodation for the night.
